This series is totally spoiling me. Every book has been a different trope adventure and I’ve loved meeting the entire family. With that being said it’s so hard to be the first two books. I loved those books so much my soul could barely take it. So it’s been hard each book after because I am comparing and that’s not totally fair to the author or the characters for that matter.
Anyway, on with book 4. I loved Aaran, I thought his character was smart, witty and charismatic. I thought the author brought a depth to him that I was necessarily expecting. I enjoyed reading him.
So Ery. In previous books I thought I understood her character but I felt like when reading her she wasn’t as she seemed before. I don’t know if I think that’s a good or a bad thing. It’s not that I disliked her but she irritated me. Honestly I don’t think I would have picked her for Aaran. Heck, maybe I liked him too much and that was the problem!
Overall, this author writes wonderful stories. I loved the suspense in this one, I feel like you always have a bit of a twist you didn’t necessarily see coming. I’d absolutely recommend this book (definitely this series) to anyone looking for a good suspenseful romance. Maybe you’ll think my review is a cop out, but it’s hard to give an author five stars when they wrote a great book. She can’t help it that her heroine irritated me.
