Review
Since I was asked to read Warrior Blue by Kelsey Kingsley I have been entranced by her writing. It’s the kind that truly develops the characters in way that the story is undeniable.
In her new release, A Circle of Crows, Kelsey steps out of her comfort zone and brings murder mystery to romance. Set in Scotland you’ll get a healthy dose of yummy Scottish accent from the hero as well.
How did I feel about the story? Well I enjoyed the hell of it I’ll tell ya that. I’d say if you like a lot more romance with a bit of suspense then prepare yourself for the opposite. The romance is there but the star of this book is mystery. It actually reminded me a lot of the Mary Higgins Clark books I grew up reading. The whodunnit had be pulled in and flying through the pages.
My favorite part of the romance was, one the h/H are older which I always love and it’s not rushed. I’d say insta attraction not insta love.
Overall
I think Circle of Crows would interest not just romance readers but can pull avid mystery fans too! This author may have been stepping out of her comfort zone but she proves that talent spans all genres.

Nothing ever happens in Fort Crow, Scotland, or so Inspector Alec Brodie thinks. But when the body of a tourist is found in the woods, the detective begins to see that things aren't all that they seem in the sleepy little town, especially when the murder is ruled as an accident. With raised suspicion, Alec now has to wonder, who is trying to cover up the killing of Grace Allan?
Realizing he can't trust anybody, Inspector Brodie sets out to solve the mystery on his own, until he meets Rosie Allan, a woman determined to help catch her sister's killer. Stubborn and set in his ways, Alec is reluctant to accept her assistance, but Rosie is persistent, not to mention beautiful, and he finds her impossible to refuse.
Together, they begin to uncover the dark secrets hidden within the small Scottish town, and with those secrets, they find answers. But can they solve the mystery without getting themselves killed—or worse, falling in love?
