BLOG POST: Lets Talk Books

Ringing in another new year after a horrid 2020 for my family had me thinking about the blog and what my 2021 goals are. The first thing that popped into my head was, I want to talk more about books. When and why did we stop doing that?

While I love all the pretty pictures people take with books now, that’s not my thing. One because I don’t have the time, and two because that’s not my creative outlet. What is my thing? Talking about books, the whole reason I even started my blog. I want to talk to you about my books. Yes, I love promoting books I love, but I don’t want that to be what you think of when you think of my blog. That I am just continually promoting books. I want you to think of my blog and tell your friends to follow me because we talk about the books I’m reading. I want you to read what I’m reading, and I want to talk about it. I want you to feel safe to tell me the truth.
“Brittany, I can’t believe you liked that book. I couldn’t get into it, and here’s why…”
Saying that though, I don’t want to become a book or author basher; that’s not the person I am. Dana and I have talked about this before. There are books she loves that I did not, and vice versa. I love bantering about it, but we don’t hate on the book or the author. I mean, everyone has a different opinion. It’s what makes life great!

So my 2021 goal is, talk to you about books. Maybe even start a monthly book club. However, I am trying to figure out how I can make this work. There are many of us, and we’d have to agree on a book, that could be difficult.

What do you think? Want to talk more about the books you’re reading? I’d be willing to start a group, so it’s more private, and you’d feel safe expressing your feelings. Or are you over all the groups? Maybe I just do my blog post about a book, and then we talk in the comments?
Please give me all your feedback!
