ARC BOOK REVIEW: Where We Went Wrong by Kelsey Kingsley

Review

Rating:★★★★★★

If a dictionary were made up entirely of book covers with definitions of the book next to them, Kelsey Kingsleys would say, destroyer hearts but repairer of souls.

Where We Went Wrong by Kelsey Kingsley broke my heart, made me angry, drove me crazy, made me question life, and finally soothed my soul.

What I loved:
Vinnie and Andrea are two imperfectly perfect characters. I mean, let’s be honest, Vinnie is a hot freaking mess. The guy has so much baggage, and Andrea isn’t a lot better. Maybe not a mess to the everyday person, but her ghosts are real.

The story.
Kelsey Kingsley does NOT mess around with a story. I can just tell when I am reading her words that the story is real. Maybe not straight from real life, but it’s never fluff. You will not get fluff with this story. Honestly you may get a lot more than you can handle. It’s a hard read, but it’s worth it.

Overall
Where We Went Wrong is brutal. I mean the words, the feelings, it’s brutal because it tears you up inside reading it. I had to put it down and pick it back up and put it down and pick it back up. That’s not to say there aren’t beautiful parts, because oh my goodness, the beautiful pieces are sooooooooo beautiful, but they tear you up too.

It’s fitting that I started this year with a six-star book of Kelsey Kingsleys (Warrior Blue) might as well end the year that way too. I implore you to read this book because it is worth every tear you will cry, I promise.
