Review
If You Love Me, just wasn’t what I was expecting it to be. The cover and the blurb for the book pulled me and made me feel like it would be a comforting small-town read. While I would say the book was warm and comforting in parts overall, I was just plain disappointed.
I loved the main character, Carissa. Her shy, sweet personality was well written and believable. She felt an old friend you could confide. I was not fond of the suddenness of how the story started with a lot of characters thrown into the mix, and a back story that was more information than needed.
I did not like the hero Drew, at all, and his character felt wrong for Carissa. I love opposites attract, but this was two people who didn’t belong together thrown together. It was hard for me to see them together.
I love a good Hallmark movie, but this was just a bit too on the nose. Add that to the fact I couldn’t get into the two main characters being together, and everything just fell flat.
