Wow! I didn’t know it was possible to hate and love a character at the same time! But that’s what Hayley Faiman does in her newest release Becoming His Mistress.
Secrets, lies, mystery, and infidelity scatter the pages of this mafia romance. I’m generally not one who reads books with cheating, but Hayley never condones the act; instead, she recognizes the circumstances that cause the situation to happen.
Arlo is impossible to hate, not because he is charming but because he is so loyal it’s made him a bit broken. I want to strangle him a lot throughout the book, but I also want to hug him simultaneously.
Lenora is sweet and somewhat naive, but she’s strong. She holds firm when she first finds out the secrets that Arlo is keeping.
My only critique, and I’m not even sure that it’s really a critique, is that toward the end it gets a bit overloaded with information. A lot is thrown at you in a small section, and you have to be paying attention to follow the who done it.
I really enjoyed this second book in the Zanetti Famgilia series, and I’m excited to see who Hayley might bring us next!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
As an only child, Hayley Faiman had to entertain herself somehow. She started writing stories at the age of six and never really stopped.
Born in California, she met her now husband at the age of sixteen and married him at the age of twenty in 2004. After all of these years together, he’s still the love of her life.
Hayley’s husband joined the military and they lived in Oregon,where he was stationed with the US Coast Guard. They moved back to California in 2006, where they had two little boys. Recently, the four of them moved out to the Hill Country of Texas, where they adopted a new family member, a chocolate lab named Optimus Prime.
Most of Hayley’s days are spent taking care of her two boys, going to the baseball fields for practice, or helping them with homework. Her evenings are spent with her husband and her nights—those are spent creating alpha book boyfriends.
