The debut novel by Stefanie Jenkins, I Never Planned on You, knocked me on my ass. I wasn’t expecting the amount of emotion that poured out of this book and I was ugly crying through most of it. The heroine had me wanting to hug her and then strangle her at the same time. Her hero was so utterly adorable and charming that I wanted to pick him from the pages and keep him for myself. The secondary cast of characters stood on their own but didn’t outshine h/H.
Stefanie did an excellent job keeping me engaged from beginning to end, even if it was through a sheen of tears. Tucked in the words of this book is a story of grief and healing, but oh so much love. I Never Planned on You was worth the red and swollen book hangover face I had the entire next day!
