Loved Garrett and how he knew he was broken

Finding authors that I have never read before and falling in love with their words is one of my most favorite things. If reading or rereading books from your favorite authors is like coming home, a warm comfort in your belly, then new authors are like a new relationship, where you aren’t sure what to expect but when it ends up being amazing and leaves you with a giddiness that doesn’t seem to away. Nicole Dykes newest release,Standstill, did just that. I had never read Nicole before I picked up Standstill, so I had no idea what to expect. What starts as the beginning to a typical romance takes a dramatic turn that flips all the events you thought might happen in the book and puts you on an entirely different journey. Riveted by her words from the beginning, I couldn’t put Standstill down until I had finished. As always I’m afraid I can’t give anything away because it’s a book you must experience for yourself. You will encounter loss and angst and anger, but most of all, a deep seeded love that just won’t let you go.
