Brittanys Review
It seems like most of the time when I find a book to read the author has been on the scene for a while. Even a “new” author may still have at least a dozen books and a small following of hardcore fans. This week I had the honor to read and review two books from new authors.
I received an email invite to sign up for a new MM romance titled Robby. At first, the name of the main character had me close to pushing the delete button, but when I saw that it was the third book in a construction series, I decided to read the blurb. Once I had finished, there was no doubt I was putting my name in to receive an ARC.
I was charmed and heartbroken by Robby and Matt’s story. Robby outwardly is a fun loving, happy, proud man who overcame an ugly past. Matt, on the other hand, is a quiet, shy single father trying to do right by his son. While Robby holds onto some dark secrets, Matt finds himself confiding his to Robby. As they navigate a friendship that becomes romantic, their pasts collide, which causes doubt between them.
I fell fast and hard for the adorable awkwardness between the two men. Their little quirks and nervousness over each other kept me smiling. Through this book, Jen shows us how souls recognize each other long before hearts do.
